Carpet Installation

The Measure: The installation process begins when we do the onsite layout of your room to determine the amount of carpet needed and the way it will be installed. (The Measure) This is the critical first step to a perfect job and is necessary for accurate pricing of the project. Just Remnants offers free, in-home measuring. There is no catch.

The Layout: The diagram is a map for the preparation and cutting of the carpet it shows the overall layout of the carpet, including the least visible placement seams.

Which Method: In most home installations carpet is secured at the walls with tack strip and then stretched tight over carpet pad. This method ensures a smooth, wrinkle free installation. In some circumstances the carpet is glued directly to the floor with no pad. This is common in commercial installations.

Sprouts: Sprouting refers to small tufts or loops of carpet that become visible after the installation. This is not a defect of the carpet or installation. Use a small pair of scissors to carefully trim the loose fibers flush with the surface of the carpet. Finally, if wrinkles or ripples appear, it may be necessary to re-stretch the carpet
